Recipe: Instant Sardine Pizza

MANILA, Philippines — What can you do with a can of sardines? Cook it with onion and ginger and eat it with rice? Make it a filling for your sandwich? Cook it with olive oil and garlic and turn it into a pasta dish?

You can do all that — but you can also make an instant, delicious pizza with it. All you need is a frozen pizza crust, which you can readily buy from the supermarket, and you’ll be off to a truly satisfying meal.

King Cup Sardines shows how easily it can be done with this recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cans King Cup Sardines in Tomato Sauce

500 grams pizza crust

200 ml. tomato sauce

350 grams Mozzarella cheese

120 grams Parmesan cheese

20 grams dried oregano

200 grams onion rings

PROCEDURE:

1. Top the pizza crust with tomato sauce (*make sure to leave about an inch of bare dough around the edges of the crust), Mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, onion rings and sardines.

2. Bake for about 20 minutes until the cheese and crust begin to brown.

3. Let cool for 5 minutes.

4. Slice into squares and serve.
