Sara: Too early to discuss 2028 polls

VICE President Sara Duterte said on Monday the 2028 elections were still too far to discuss.

Duterte had emerged as one of the top choices for president for 2028 in a Pulse Asia survey.

«Napakalayo pa kasi ng 2028 para natin pag-usapan siya ngayon (2028 is still too far for us to discuss it now),» she told reporters on the sidelines of Go Negosyo's Youthpreneur event held at the Rizal High School in Pasig City.

She added that what everyone needs to do is to focus on nation-building.

The survey, conducted last March 6 to 10, asked 1,200 respondents whom they would vote for if the presidential elections «were held today.»

Sen. Raffy Tulfo and Duterte topped the survey with a statistical tie, with Tulfo having a 35 percent voter preference and Duterte 34 percent.

They were followed by former vice president Leni Robredo (11 percent), Sen. Imee Marcos (5 percent), former senator Manny Pacquiao (3 percent), Sen. Robinhood Padilla (2 percent), Sen. Risa Hontiveros (1 percent), and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez (0.5 percent).

Other preferences that were not on the survey's list were former president Rodrigo Duterte (0.2 percent) and former Manila mayor Francisco «Isko Moreno» Domagoso (1 percent).

Five percent «can't say,» and 2 percent «refused.»

The survey had a ±2.8-percent margin of error and a 95-percent confidence level.
