[SPLIT News Alert] DAR to validate 500 hectares of land and issue individual land titles in North Cotabato

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to validate 500 hectares of land under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project in Carmen, North Cotabato to issue individual land titles to 218 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).

Project SPLIT involves the parcelization of lands and issuance of individual land titles to ARBs who were previously awarded lands through collective certificates of landownership award (CCLOAs).

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Evangeline Bueno confirmed that the validation team from Project SPLIT would validate about 580.051 hectares of CCLOA covering properties in Malapag, Carmen.

“These ARBs are expected to benefit from the project, giving them an absolute ownership of the lands they are tilling after the Project SPLIT activities are completed and finally award them their individual land titles,” she said.

In a courtesy meeting recently held and spearheaded by Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Cheryll Camariñas and MARPO Mary Joy Clarito, Project SPLIT was thoroughly discussed and explained among the beneficiaries and stakeholders, clearing some doubts and questions about the project.

As a result, all sectors and other stakeholders involved such as the Barangay Officials, Purok Leaders, potential ARBs, actual occupants, and tribal leaders of Barangay Malapag, conveyed their willingness and commitment to support the undertakings concerning the Project SPLIT.

Indigenous Person Mandatory Representative Damasco Ampalid expressed his support to the project and wished for the success of the Project SPLIT activities.
