Stricter rules on issuance of PWD card ordered

QUEZON CITY Mayor Maria Josefina Belmonte ordered on Wednesday the Persons with Disability Affairs Office to implement stricter rules on the issuance of privilege cards for persons with disability (PWDs).

The mayor's order came after the Quezon City Police District arrested in an entrapment operation Deline Banaag, 27, and Jayden Laurino, 24, both Caloocan City residents, for possession of falsified PWD cards.The police acted on a tip concerning the proliferation of fake PWD privilege cards in Caloocan.«We condemn these individuals who resort to falsification of our QC IDs just to benefit from discounts and other privileges,» she said.

The two will be charged with violation of Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
