Undefeated UV Lancers shoot for win No.6 | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The undefeated defending champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers gun for their sixth straight win as they clash with the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Season 23 Men’s Basketball Tournament today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Game time is set at 3:30 p.m.,  with the Lancers aiming to maintain their perfect start of the season. They are currently at solo second place in the college division standings with an immaculate 5-0 slate.

The Warriors, on the other hand, hope to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges (CRMC) Mustangs in their previous match and improve their 3-2 record but they face a tall order against the heavily favored Lancers.

In the other collegiate duel, the 1-5 Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats and the 1-6 University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons collide against each other at 5 p.m.

In the juniors category, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars will try to stretch their unbeaten streak to 5-0 as they take on the 4-1 University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters at 2 p.m., while the 4-2 UV Baby Lancers seek to strengthen their drive towards the Final Four as they go up against the 1-6 Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves in the 12:30 p.m. opener. — (FREEMAN)
