'View of the metro skyline': New rooftop bar opens in Poblacion

MANILA, Philippines — A new rooftop bar in Poblacion, Makati is now open for lovers and friends to have a night out this Valentine’s Day.

In Dusk at 27th, guests will get a sweeping view of the metro skyline as you indulge in chef-created food and drinks in a cozy bar that is designed to offer fun and memorable bonding moments.

The interiors are done in modern aesthetic chic, with choices of plush couches for large groups or more intimate table settings that are perfect for date night.

“Our concept is for a bar that caters to anyone who wants to have a great time, from Gen Zs to other age groups. Even though we are a mainstream concept, we want to offer our guests premium service in a premium ambience with premium food at accessible price points,” General Manager Jay Martal said.

As the bar is located at the 27th floor of Hotel Berjaya, the food is also elevated, with Head Chef Aphol Sollorano and Sous Chef Querovin de Mesa working with their team to provide their own appetizing take on bar chow dishes that have familiar flavors in servings that are meant for sharing.

Starters such as salads are available, in choices of Watermelon, Pomelo or Seaweed Apple Poppy Seeds in Balsamic Vinaigrette. There is also a wide selection of pasta dishes, including the creamy and comforting Truffle Chicken and a Bolognese that features a slow-simmered rich sauce.

Bar Chow choices include a well-made Crispy Pata with crackling skin that shatters with each bite; Sizzling Shrimp Gambas, and tender Calamari rings coated in a light and crispy batter. As for chips, the must-try is 3-Cheese Artichoke with Tortilla and Potato Chips.

Other must-tries from the menu are Sisig Rolls, with succulent sisig deep fried lumpia style; and the Crispy Tofu Chicken Inasal that brings together golden fried tofu squares with flavorful chicken.

Since Berjaya Hotel is known for its selection of authentic Malaysian dishes, there’s also a Chicken Satay that is rich with spices, pairing well with their drinks. Those with a sweet tooth will love the Banana Panchetta, a playful take on sweet and savory flavors as grilled saba banana is rolled in
