2 soldiers dead as Army truck plunges into ravine

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Two soldiers died while two others were injured when a miltary truck plunged into a ravine in Sulu on Monday.

The Joint Task Force Orion and 11th Infantry Division said the fatalities were with the 545th Engineering Brigade.

The military said the victims were on their way to inspect a project in Kalinggalan Caluang town when the accident occurred.

In Zamboanga del Norte, five soldiers and three militiamen of the 44th Infantry Battalion were injured when their truck fell on its side in Sitio Kalawit, Barangay Tinaplan in Leon B. Postigo after the brake malfunctioned.
