DAR, DOH, ARBOs ink agreement to mitigate hunger and poverty

TUGUEGARAO CITY - To have a smooth implementation of government’s program on Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) and to strengthen the collaboration between the institutional markets, the Department of Agrarian Reform Region 02 (DARR02) inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Health Region 02 (DOHR02) and Marketing Agreement with five (5) Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) on October 3, 2023 at Hotel Carmelita. The PAHP is a government initiative program launched in 2016 under the Agrarian Reform Fund, participated by different government agencies and its stakeholders. It aims to ensure food security and mitigate hunger and poverty by 2030.

According to him, this liberates the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) from the bondage of soil and indebtedness from the government.

“We enter into agreement to capacitate our ARBOs, emancipate them from hardships and provide linkages to institutional buyers. Our ARBOs are assured of market outlets or buyers of their raw products provided it is fresh, cheap but not to compromise its quality.” he added. Meanwhile, CARPO-PBDD Jenalyn F.

DOHR02 Regional Director Dr. Amelita M.
