Fair weather with scattered rains in PH — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines: Four weather systems — the shear line, northeast monsoon, easterlies and localized thunderstorms — will be bringing scattered or isolated rains in the country today, Wednesday. Weather specialist Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the country would continue to have generally fair weather in the coming days.

«So far based on Pagasa's data and analysis, we have not monitored any single disturbance inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility,» she said. The state-run weather agency said the four weather systems are bringing isolated light rains in most parts of the country, especially in the afternoon or at night.

In particular, the shear line and easterlies are bringing overcast skies with scattered heavy rains over Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropoa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Bicol Region, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or «amihan,» is affecting areas in Northern Luzon, including Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte and Apayao, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m.

advisory. The state weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
