Grand Lotto prize to reach P630 million

MANILA, Philippines — The jackpot of the Grand Lotto 6/55 is estimated to reach P630 million in tonight’s draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said yesterday.

Mel Robles, PCSO general manager and vice chairman of the board, said that there was again no jackpot winner in Saturday night’s Grand Lotto 6/55 draw, which had the winning combination 16-47-23-40-54-06 and carried a jackpot of P607,174,874.40.

Robles said the PCSO was delighted by the surge in lotto sales the past few weeks, reflecting the success of their “Handog Pakabog” holiday lotto promo campaign.

“We are thankful to our lotto patrons who are supporting our lotto games and are helping us generate more revenues from which we can raise our charity fund for this year and also help us reach our lotto revenue target of P70 billion for 2024,” he said.

Robles noted that with a 70:30 ratio for computing its prize and operations fund and the charity fund, hitting P70 billion would mean that the PCSO would get a P21-billion allocation for its charity fund.

The Universal Healthcare Law mandates that the PCSO allocate 40 percent of its charity fund to the Philippine Health Care Corp. for the government’s flagship UHC program.
