Lady Falcons soar past Lady Warriors

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson pounced on the Jerry Yee-less University of the East, 25-19, 25-19, 26-28, 29-27, to get back on track in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Jimy Jean Jamili had a breakout outing of 20 points on 18 hits and two blocks as the Lady Falcons bounced back from their straight-sets defeat to National U for a 2-2 record midway through the first round. Jamili sat out their first three games.

The Lady Falcons pulled off the win at the expense of the Lady Warriors without their suspended head coach Yee.

The UAAP suspended Yee based on a complaint of one its member schools  “on account of conduct violative of the purposes of the UAAP, a platform for member universities to foster camaraderie and fair play.”

Yee’s suspension will not affect UE’s win-loss record and he may still train the Lady Warriors and coach the team in non-UAAP events.

The UAAP did not disclose the said member school that raised the complaint but the issue apparently stemmed on Yee’s departure from his former team Adamson, according to his own statement.
