Liza Soberano appears in teaser for her Hollywood debut 'Lisa Frankenstein'

Liza Soberano's much-anticipated Hollywood debut is just around the corner, and fans are abuzz with excitement after getting a sneak peek of her role in the official teaser trailer for «Lisa Frankenstein.»

The film, directed by Zelda Williams and penned by award-winning writer Diablo Cody, brings a unique twist to the classic tale inspired by Mary Shelley's «Frankenstein.»

Scheduled for a Feb. 9, 2024 premiere, «Lisa Frankenstein» promises to be a blend of romance, horror, and comedy, with Soberano as a prominent part of the cast.

In the teaser trailer, released by Focus Features, Soberano's character, Taffy was seen in a brief scene featuring her behind the wheel of a car, engaged in a conversation with the film's lead, Kathryn Newton, who plays Lisa Swallows, her stepsister in the film.

Soberano's Taffy quipped, «That's really weird, Lisa.»

«Lisa Frankenstein» is a creative reimagining of the classic story, set in 1989. According to its synopsis, Lisa Frankenstein «follows a misunderstood teenage goth girl who reanimates a handsome corpse from the Victorian era during a lightning storm and rebuilds him into the man of her dreams by using a broken tanning machine in her garage. After going through a playfully horrific transformation, they embark on a murderous journey to find true love, happiness, and a few missing body parts along the way.»

Joining Soberano and Newton in the cast are notable actors like Cole Sprouse (Victorian corpse), Henry Eikenberry, and Joey Harris, among others.

Soberano has been actively engaged in the project since its announcement, sharing her journey from auditions to filming through her social media.

Her involvement in the film started with a chance encounter with the film's director Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late Robin Williams, while connecting with industry professionals in Los Angeles. This encounter led to an audition for the role of Taffy. She received the call confirming she got it while in South Korea.

This marks her first foray into Hollywood after undergoing a rebranding
