Man threatens neighbors with shotgun
MANILA, Philippines — A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly threatening his neighbors with an improvised shotgun in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.
Ian Carlo Jacob was apprehended in Barangay Kaligayahan at around 1 a.m., Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said.
Before he was arrested, Jacob was allegedly creating trouble in his neighborhood.
The suspect, who was reportedly drunk, was holding a firearm locally known as sumpak when he was spotted by operatives of the Novaliches police station.
Seized from him were the firearm and two bullets for a 12-gauge shotgun.
The suspect is facing charges of alarm and scandal and violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
