Passenger arrested over bomb threat at NAIA
AIRASIA Philippines blacklisted a male passenger who made a bomb threat against the low-cost airline after not being able to board his flight.
The AirAsia management took the threat seriously and placed the passenger on the airline passengers' blacklist. This means that the passenger will no longer be able to fly with AirAsia.
The passenger identified as Lester Morales, who was supposed to board flight Z2-322 bound for Tacloban, came late and missed his flight.
According to reports from the PNP-Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU), since he was not able to catch his flight, Morales asked a female AirAsia ground service agent (GSA) at airline check-in counter 22 at about 3:30 a.m. as to what other options he had and was told that he could only re-book.
Before leaving the counter, Morales was overheard as saying in Filipino, «It's nice to blow up your airline.»
The female GSA promptly reported the incident to the aviation security on duty.
Morales was later invited and brought to the PNP-AVSEU office for record purposes and AirAsia chose not to pursue the case against the passenger.
The airline said the incident did not disrupt flight operations.
