Warm, humid with scattered rain as 2 weather systems affect PH
MANILA, Philippines — Two weather systems – easterlies and shear line – are affecting the entire country where humid, warm weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms can be experienced within the next 24 hours, the state-run weather agency said on Thursday.
Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the country would remain free from any tropical cyclone or low pressure area (LPA) in the coming days.
The state weather bureau said only one weather disturbance may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in May.
In particular, Aurelio said the shear line – where the hot and cold air converge – is bringing scattered downpours and thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan and Isabela.
On one hand, the easterlies – winds coming from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry humid and warm weather – are affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the Pagasa forecaster said.
