'Hulihin na': Apollo Quiboloy ipinaaaresto ng Senate committee dahil sa contempt | Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines — Inirekomenda na ng Senate committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality na ipaaresto ang religious leader na si Apollo Quiboloy dahil sa patuloy na pag-isnab sa mga pagdinig kaugnay ng reklamong pang-aabuso sa miyebro.

Ito ang binasa ni committee chair Sen. Risa Hontiveros sa kanyang opening statement ngayong Martes sa pag-asang makunan siya ng tesimonya.

"Pursuant to Section 18 of the Rules of the Senate, as chair of the Committee, with the concurrence of one member here with me, I cite in contempt APOLLO CARREON QUIBOLOY for his refusal to be sworn or to testify before this investigation," wika ni Hontiveros.

"This committee requests the Senate President [Juan Miguel Zubiri] to order his arrest so that he may be brought to testify."

Ipinapa-subpoena ng Senado at Kamara si Quiboloy — na nag-aasang "Appointed Son of God" — kaugnay ng diumano'y reklamong sexual abuse at franchise violations ng kanyang Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).

Kasalukuyang nagtatago si Quiboloy matapos sabihing nais siyang "ipa-kidnap" at "ipapatay" ng U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), US Embassy at State Department kasabwat ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Matatandaang wanted sa Amerika si Quiboloy dahil sa reklamong child sex trafficking atbp.

Ayon sa ipinadalang liham ng abogado ni Quiboloy sa tanggapan ni Hontiveros, tumatangging humarap sa pagdinig ang pastor dahil paglabag daw ito sa kanyang constitutional right laban sa self-incrimination. Dagdag pa niya, "idineklara" na raw siyang guilty agad kinakailangang presumed innocent muna.

"If we allow witnesses of the Senate to simply claim that appearing before a committee would violate his or her constitutional right to be presumed innocent and his or her right against self-incrimination, wala na pong kapangyarihan ang ating Senado maglunsad ng mga imbestigasyon," paliwanag ng senadora. 

"Madaling-madali na lang umiwas sa mga hearing ng Blue Ribbon sa mga tiwaling opisyal, sa mga imbestigasyon ng Public Order Committee sa mga sangkot sa mga krimen. Hindi po uubra ang ganitong mga excuse!"

Ayon naman kay AKO BICOL party-list Rep. Raul
