Korona itatagay na ng Beermen | Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines — Tapusin na kaya ng San Miguel o hihirit pa ng ‘winner-take-all’ ang Mag­nolia.

Inagaw ng Beermen ang 3-2 lead matapos balikan ang Hotshots sa Game Five, 108-98, sa kanilang best-of-seven championship series noong nakaraang Linggo.

Tinapos ng San Miguel ang dalawang sunod na kabiguan sa Magnolia matapos magtayo ng 2-0 bentahe sa serye para lumapit sa pagkopo sa pang-29 korona.

“In Games 3 and 4 we were overconfident, and it brought us down again. Confident is good, but overconfident is bad. That’s what happened in Games 3 and 4,” wika ni Beermen coach Jorge Gallent sa panalo ng Hotshots.

Sa panalo ng SMB sa Game Five ay nagpaputok si Jericho Cruz ng team-high 30 points tampok ang walong three-point shots  habang may limang triples si Simon Enciso para tumapos na may 15 markers.

“Once we’re given a chance to play on the court, talagang we just have to provide. I’m so happy na maganda ang nilaro ko tapos panalo pa kami,” ani Cruz sa naiwang trabaho ni injured Terrence Romeo.

Wala namang balak ang Magnolia na isuko ang serye.

“I feel good about this conference. I mean we came back from 0-2, we can do it again, we can win two more games. Why not?” sabi ni Hotshots import Tyler Bey na umiskor ng 34 points sa Game Five.

Sakaling makatabla ang tropa ni coach Chito Victolero ay gagawin ang Game Seven sa Biyernes sa MOA Arena sa Pasay City.
