Marcos, Duterte share stage at PNPA rites amid rift with First lady
MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio shared the stage on Friday as they attended the graduation ceremony of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Silang, Cavite.
After full military honors, Marcos was welcomed by the Vice President before walking to the stage.
The country's highest officials were seen seated beside each other during the event.
Their meeting came a day after the President's wife, First Lady Marie Louise «Liza» Araneta-Marcos, broke her silence to attack the Vice President in a revealing interview with broadcaster Anthony Taberna.
The rift began after the Vice President attended a protest in Davao City against Charter change in January.
