Palace declares special holidays in provinces

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special holidays in various parts of the country to celebrate local events and festivals, under proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by authority of President Marcos.

Proclamation No. 428 declared Jan. 23 a special non-working day in Bulacan to mark the anniversary of the inauguration of the first Philippine Republic at Barasoain church.

Proclamation No. 424 declared Feb. 3 a holiday in Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, which marks its 74th founding anniversary.

Proclamation No. 423 declared Jan. 26 a special non-working day in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental for the celebration of the Dinagsa Festival.

It’s a special non-working day in Lipa City in Batangas on Feb. 20 for the celebration of the Coffee Festival under Proclamation No. 422.

Proclamation No. 417 declared Jan. 29 a special non-working day in Tantangan, South Cotabato for the celebration of the town‘s 63rd anniversary and the Kulitangtang Festival. The events were supposed to be held on Jan. 27, but the local government requested that the holiday be declared on Jan. 29.

Malacañang declared Jan. 10 a special non-working day in Koronadal City, South Cotabato under Proclamation No. 416 to celebrate the founding anniversary of the city and the Hinugyaw Festival.

Valencia City in Bukidnon will celebrate its charter anniversary on Jan. 12, which was declared a holiday under Proclamation No. 414.

Also declared holidays are Jan. 6 in Oroquieta City; Jan. 5 in Bauang, La Union and Tagudin, Ilocos Sur; and Jan. 4 in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro to allow residents to celebrate their respective founding anniversary.
