Bam Aquino seeks Senate return
MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Paolo Benigno «Bam» Aquino 4th on Monday filed his certificate of candidacy for senator in a bid to regain his Senate seat which he lost in the 2019 midterm polls.
Aquino said that if he gets elected in 2025, he would push for a law that would ensure jobs for the youth.
«I authored the free college education but now the parents are clamoring for jobs for their children. So I will push for the passage of a law that would provide jobs to our youth,» he added.
Aquino said that he expects his ratings in surveys to improve once he steps up his campaign through social media.
His first law—the Go Negosyo Act — supports Filipinos who want to start and grow their own businesses.
Aquino is the principal author of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act which grants free tuition for students in State Universities and Colleges, Local Universities and Colleges, and TESDA- accredited Technical Vocational Institutions.
